SWELL Horse Club is a six-week hands-on experience designed to help youth ages 13–15 build real horsemanship and riding skills while developing confidence, resilience, leadership, healthy relationships, and a stronger sense of self.
Horses are incredible teachers. They respond to our body language, energy, communication, boundaries, and ability to stay calm under pressure. Through working with horses, participants have the opportunity to practice skills that reach far beyond the arena.
Each week, participants rotate through three experiences:
HORSEMANSHIP
Learn horse care, grooming, safety, handling, groundwork, tack, and how to understand what a horse is communicating.
RIDING
Develop balance, communication, confidence, and practical riding skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
SWELL
Through Horse Guided Empowerment activities, participants explore self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, healthy boundaries, resilience, leadership, relationships, decision-making under pressure, and belonging.

Time: 4:00–6:00 PM
Location: Swell Retreat | Castle Dale, Utah
Length: 6 consecutive weeks
Investment: $270 for the complete six-week program

No horse experience necessary.
Registration is for the entire six-week experience and is paid in full at registration. Because skills, confidence, and relationships build from week to week, participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions.
More Than Horse Lessons
A traditional riding lesson can teach a young person how to ride a horse.
SWELL Horse Club is designed to help them discover what the horse can teach them about themselves.
Our goal is for participants to leave with greater confidence around horses—but also with a deeper understanding of how they respond to challenges, how they communicate, the relationships they choose, and the kind of leader they want to become.

Through experiential activities with horses, kids explore:

Understanding ourselves, our emotions, and how we respond to the world around us.

Learning to recognize emotions, regulate, work through challenges, and grow.

Learning to lead ourselves first while developing confidence, communication, and positive influence.

Learning how to create safe herds where people belong, contribute, help one another, and thrive.

Program Tuition & ValueThe true value of the six-week SWELL Horse Club experience is $700+ per participant, based on comparable riding instruction, horsemanship experiences, small-group facilitation, Horse Guided Empowerment programming, and included program materials.
 
As a youth program of the SWELL Foundation, we want meaningful experiences with horses to be accessible to more families.

Full tuition is due at registration and reserves your child's place for all six weeks.
 
Because only 12 youth are accepted into each Horse Club session, registration represents a commitment to the entire six-week experience.
Missed sessions are not refundable or transferable.
Our goal isn't simply to teach kids how to ride.
It's to give them a place to belong, horses to learn alongside, and skills they can carry with them long after they leave the saddle.
