There are things you can learn about leadership in a classroom. And then there are things you can only discover when you're responsible for leading something that doesn't care about your title, résumé, accomplishments, or authority.

The Hearts & Horses Leader Experience is a private, five-day immersive self-leadership experience at Swell Retreat designed for someone ready to go beyond learning about leadership and experience it in real time.
Before arriving, you'll complete required online curriculum exploring self-leadership, pressure, patterns, communication, awareness, and intentional response.
Then you'll come to Swell Retreat and meet one of your greatest teachers:
A wild horse.
Over five days, you'll participate in developing communication, trust, boundaries, responsiveness, and partnership with your horse.
But the real subject you'll be studying isn't the horse.
It's you.
THE HORSE BECOMES YOUR MIRROR
A wild horse doesn't know how successful you are. You can't talk your way into trust, demand genuine connection, or guarantee progress according to your timeline.
As you work together, you'll observe your leadership in real time.
What happens when something isn't working? Do you push harder? Back away? Overthink? Become frustrated? Question yourself? Try to control the outcome? Change direction?
Or can you remain present enough to notice what's happening, adjust, and deliberately choose what comes next?
Pressure reveals patterns.
This isn't ultimately about training a horse. It's about developing the self-leadership required to participate in the development of one.
You'll explore pressure and release, communication, trust, boundaries, patience, confidence, adaptability, expectations, connection, clarity, courage, and intentional leadership.
The goal isn't to control the outcome.
It's to become more capable of leading yourself through the process.
WHO THIS IS FOR
The Leader Experience is for someone willing to turn the mirror toward themselves.
It's for the person who:

No previous horse-training or horseback-riding experience is required.
You aren't expected to arrive knowing how to work with a wild horse.
You're expected to arrive willing to learn.

This isn't a traditional vacation, horseback-riding trip, horse-training clinic, or leadership seminar.
It isn't designed for someone who wants to dominate or "break" a horse, requires a predetermined outcome, is unwilling to examine their own behavior, or is looking for someone else to be responsible for their experience.
You'll be supported and guided throughout the process.
But the work remains yours.

Pre-Arrival Online Curriculum
Complete the required curriculum before arrival so your five days can focus on application, experience, reflection, and growth.
Your Wild Horse Experience
Spend five days participating in the process of developing a relationship with a wild horse while experiencing what trust, pressure, communication, patience, boundaries, adjustment, and leadership actually require.
There is no guaranteed training milestone.
The horse's pace is part of the lesson.
Individualized Hearts & Horses Facilitation
What happens with your horse becomes a laboratory for exploring what may also be happening in your leadership, business, relationships, and life.
We'll get curious about what happened, what you did, what the horse communicated, what showed up in you, and what changed when you changed.
Reflection & Integration
You'll have intentional space to process what you're learning and identify how to carry those lessons into the places where you lead every day.

Your experience includes a fully furnished private apartment at Swell Retreat, allowing you to step away from normal routines and immerse yourself in the experience.
